Kate Spade can be found across america, mainly in larger cities such as New York City of course, being its birthplace, Houston, Tokyo, and Hollywood. Kate was Originally a Accessories Editor, so she knew the market well. Her and her boyfriend combined their talents and took the market by force with their wonderful uses of fabric and color. Kate had her very own unique sense of fashion, and it made her Kate Spade accessories a breath of fresh air in the fashion world. In 1993 Kate re-invented the handbag and started a virtual revolution in the handbag market. 1996 Kate Spade was honored by the CFDA ( Council of Fashion Designers) and she was also titled They didn't do all of this alone, in 1993 they hired some help to build up the Kate Spade business, and most of the people they hired onto the company were old friends. Kate Spade finally opened up their first shop in the city of New York on thompsan street, and the business quickly outgrew the small shop they had and they needed to relocate. As the years past the company grew and grew, and in the year 1998 they opened up a shop boston, and in 2000 in Greenwich, Chicago, San Francicsco, and Washington D.C. More and More Kate Spade opened in the years of 2003 and 2004, and the business did nothing but become a bigger empire.
the first kate spade collection started with boxy, no-nonsense, nylon tote bags in six styles and three neutral colors. the simple, well-constructed design with the small rectangular label has become a fashion classic, hanging in closets next to levis jeans and bass loafers. since then, the handbag collection has grown to include a wide selection of leather handbags and accessories, elegant evening bags, "incognito" baby bags, and a luggage collection. in addition, each season kate develops a well-edited selection of innovative fabric handbags to incorporate into the line. the criterion for new styles endures: if it will be out of style tomorrow, it won't be added to the line today.
